If you’re anywhere in north-central Massachusetts or the Monadnock region of New Hampshire, there’s a good chance the answer is Bud Barn, the big red barn at 682 Spring Street in Winchendon. Here’s how to choose a dispensary, what to bring and how to make your first trip quick and easy.
How close is Bud Barn?
Closer than you might think. We sit right where Route 12 and Route 140 meet, so most of the area is a short, easy drive:
- Ashburnham: about 10 minutes
- Gardner: about 13 minutes
- Rindge, NH: about 14 minutes
- Templeton and Westminster: under 20 minutes
- Jaffrey, NH: about 20 minutes
- Ashby: about 24 minutes
- Peterborough, NH: about 35 minutes
- Keene, NH: about 40 minutes

What to look for in a dispensary
Not every dispensary is the same. A few things make a real difference:
- An online menu you can order from. Being able to see what’s in stock, compare options and order ahead saves a lot of time.
- Easy parking. Free parking right out front beats circling a downtown block.
- Hours that fit your schedule. Evening and Sunday hours matter if you work days.
- Staff who take the time. Good budtenders explain products in plain English and never rush you.
- What other customers say. Reviews tell you a lot. We’re rated 4.7 stars from around 500 Google reviews.
Hours and parking
We’re open seven days a week: Monday to Saturday 9am to 9pm, and Sunday 10am to 6pm. Parking is free, right out front, with accessible spaces by the entrance. We’re next to Little Anthony’s, so if you know where that is, you know where we are.
What to bring
- A valid photo ID showing you’re 21 or older. A driver’s license, state ID or passport works, including out-of-state IDs from New Hampshire, Vermont or anywhere else. It has to be current, not expired.
- Cash or debit. We take both, and there’s an ATM inside.
Order ahead and skip the wait
The fastest way to shop is to browse our online menu, add what you want to your cart and choose in-store pickup. Most orders are ready in about 15 minutes. You can order any time, even late at night, and it’ll be ready when we open. Then just come in, show your ID, pay at the counter and go.
