Pre-rolls are the most-ordered category on our online menu, and it’s easy to see why: they’re ready to go, easy to compare and there’s something at every price point. If you’re shopping for pre-rolls in Winchendon, here’s a simple guide to the options on our shelves and how to pick the right one for you.
What is a pre-roll?
A pre-roll is cannabis flower that comes already ground and rolled, so there’s nothing to grind, roll or pack. Each one is sealed in a tube or a pack and labeled with the strain, the weight, the THC percentage and the date it was packaged. Same flower, less work.
Singles vs. multipacks
Most of our pre-rolls come in two ways:
- Singles are one pre-roll in a tube. They’re the cheapest way to try a new strain or brand without committing to a whole pack.
- Multipacks (often 2, 5 or 10 to a pack) usually cost less per pre-roll. If you already know what you like, packs are almost always the better value.
A good habit: try a strain as a single first, then buy the pack once you’ve found one you like.
Sizes: half grams, full grams and minis
Pre-rolls are sold by weight, and the size is on every label:
- Minis or “dogwalkers” (around 0.3–0.35g) are small, usually sold in packs, and good when you want something short.
- Half-gram (0.5g) pre-rolls are a middle ground and very common in multipacks.
- Full-gram (1g) pre-rolls are the classic size, often sold as singles.
How to compare value: price per gram
Because sizes vary so much, the sticker price doesn’t tell you much on its own. The easiest way to compare is price per gram: divide the price by the total weight. A 5-pack of half grams is 2.5 grams total, so a $25 pack works out to $10 a gram. Run the same math on a single or a different pack and you’ll see right away which is the better deal.
Our online menu shows the weight for every product, so you can do the math before you leave home.
Infused pre-rolls
Infused pre-rolls are flower with added cannabis concentrate, such as distillate, kief or live resin, inside or coated on the outside. They’re labeled clearly and have a much higher THC percentage than a standard pre-roll. If you’re new to them, start with a smaller amount than you would with a regular pre-roll and take your time. Ask a budtender if you’re not sure which is which.
Indica, sativa or hybrid?
Every pre-roll is labeled indica, sativa or hybrid, based on the plant it came from. Those labels are a starting point, not a guarantee, and people’s experiences vary. If you have a strain you already like, the easiest move is to look for the same strain or one with a similar terpene (aroma) profile. Our budtenders can point you toward options with similar flavors and aromas.
